World-renowned dental surgery
at the White Clinic in Lisbon, Portugal

Chief designer and XO CARE founder Kim Sørensen paid a visit to The White Clinic in Lisbon, founded by Dr Miguel Stanley – a highly acclaimed dental professional also known for his belief in slow dentistry, immune treatment and biological dentistry.

Only recently, Miguel Stanley has begun using the XO ODONTOSURGE – a very special electrosurgical instrument specially designed for soft tissue surgery.

The uniqueness of the XO ODONTOSURGE is related to the fact that the instrument has automatic power control and works with very high frequency making perfect, dry incisions with little or no bleeding at all. This allows the dentist to maintain clear visions. We visited the White Clinic to learn more about Dr Stanley’s first impressions.

Highlights from working with XO ODONTOSURGE

Holistic dentistry performed at the White Clinics is coveted by clients from all continents. In fact, rock stars and world-class football players travel from far away for a treatment by Dr Stanley, who also treats the average customer. The XO ODONTOSURGE has been used for gingivectomy and for preparing for fillings below the gingival margin by opening the gingival pocket temporarily.

“The automatic power control of XO ODONTOSURGE is unique. It is automatically adjusted to the resistance of the tissue, says Stanley and continues, “this means that I can focus completely on the patient because I’m not distracted by needing to adjust the power setting. There is no pedal – only the handpiece, which is super light, making it very user friendly. With the ODONTOSURGE, you can be sure to have sufficient cutting power on the one hand, and at the same time, you are guaranteed that you will avoid necrotization. It’s fantastic!”

Colleague Dr Ana Paz has also been testing the use of XO ODONTOSURGE. She joins the conversation by adding: “It is very efficient for making deep incisions. It makes beautifully clean cuts – with no bleeding. It’s amazing.”

However, as the White Clinic puts great emphasis on what they call the organic curing process after, e.g., removal of molars, Dr Ana has made an interesting observation: “When you need to remove tissue, you may want the subsequent healing process to initiate faster than simply leaving the very clean ODONTOSURGE cut; you might choose to finish by using a laser, I have discovered”, she explains.

That piece of insight and suggestion is hereby passed on to peers and other professional users of the XO ODONTOSURGE.
