Studio di Odontoiatria Ricostruttiva: Family friendship and dentistry

Their friendship grew strong, but their differing personal inclinations and professional abilities led them to 4 different specializations. This could have put them onto separate life paths, but friendship, family, and knowledge-sharing kept these four extraordinary dentists together.

In 1991, after their graduation from the Catholic University of Rome, these four dentists had a clear vision of their professional future.

Dr. Luca Landi specialized in periodontology at Boston University (USA) from 1994-97, and is now also a graduate of the American Board of Periodontology and an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP)  and the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP). He works solely in clinical periodontology and implantology.

Dr. Paolo Manicone is an active member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry and aggregate professor and researcher at the Catholic University of Sacro Cuore in Rome. His activities at the university are solely focused on clinical functional and aesthetic prosthetic restoration of natural teeth and implants.

Dr. Roberto Raia received his Certificate in Periodontology at the Royal Dental College, Aarhus (DK) in 1992. He specialized in Endodontics at the University of Naples Federico II and today is an active member of the Italian Society of Endodontics (SIE). His clinical work is devoted to endodontics and periodontics.

Stefano Piccinelli is devoted to conservative and aesthetic dentistry in adults and children and is an active member of the Italian Academy of Conservative Dentistry (AIC).

Since 2000 Roberto, Stefano, Luca and Paolo have together been addressing 4 different aspects of dentistry in their clinic, Studio di Odontoiatria Ricostruttiva, located in the heart of Rome.

Every case they receive is carefully examined from all aspects so they can offer the best solutions to the patients. This approach has also enriched their knowledge and opened their minds to new procedures and perspectives in dentistry. Furthermore, every treatment in their studio is performed by a specialist in the appropriate field of dentistry. The success of their methods is reflected in the level of satisfaction of their patients.

Another aspect that makes the Studio di Odontoiatria Ricostruttiva a unique dental clinic is the family environment that can be felt from the moment a patient enters the clinic.

In the waiting room you are greeted by a wall of smiles and gentle eyes, whose owners are the children of the 4 doctors. “This wall represents the spirit and energy that we have in our lives. We try to bring this energy to the clinic, we want to share the spirit of friendship, family and quality time together with our patients” says Dr. Roberto Raia.

Friendship and family is not the only thing these four dentists share with their patients. They also want to offer them comfort and a taste of their lifestyle. To this end, they decided to acquire an XO CARE unit, which not only offers premium comfort to their patients, but also provides an ergonomic design and flexibility with regards to the different needs of their specializations.

“We can say that our patients not only noticed but appreciated the difference. Usually units, even high quality units like the one we used to work with, lack some attention to detail, for instance, the patients’ comfort: it can happen that a patient has to lie down for hours on a unit, so it needs to feel comfortable. With XO we solved this issue in a definitive way!" says Dr. Luca Landi.

Today the Studio di Odontoiatria Ricostruttiva offers not only dental treatments to its patients, but also courses about healthy eating habits and dental health care.

“We always try to spend some time together out of our office, at a meeting, having a drink or going for dinner. We often share pictures of these moments on our social media, and get many compliments. With this in mind, we had the idea of having social evenings in our studio” says Dr. Paolo Manicone.

“We are gourmet food lovers, we even have 2 sommeliers (wine experts) in the group. So we ended up organizing a 10-class sommelier course at our training center, where patients were invited to participate. We like to involve them in the clinic’s life, even outside working hours, it fits perfectly with the friendly, family environment we want to create”, says Dr. Stefano Piccinelli.
