When XO Partner Van der Ven recently hosted an event celebrating Danish design and ‘hygge’, they had really put their heart into carefully selecting some of the best Danish dental products and creating a cozy and comfy atmosphere.
Their showroom was the perfect setting for the many visitors who came to get a closer look at dental equipment developed, designed and produced in Denmark, based on the design principles of simplicity, minimalism and craftsmanship.
One of the highlights of the event was the digital XO FLOW dental unit. People were fascinated by the elegant design and eager to try the innovative features. Particularly, the unit’s ergonomic working concept attracted a lot of attention.
Ergonomic working concept with financial benefits
In Germany, most dentists work according to Basic Concept 1 (“Rechtsgerät”/instruments to the right), as described in the index scheme for workplace design developed by Karl Heinz Kimmel. In this concept, the unit is placed to the right of the dental chair, and the dentist reaches to the right for the instruments. The assistant and dentist both frequently rotate during treatments, with straining torsional movements of the spine, as a consequence.
The digital XO FLOW unit enables the dental team to work according to Basic Concept 3 (Over-the-patient delivery), where the unit, among other things, can swivel from the left and over the patient and be placed within a short reaching distance. This means that the practitioners get a more comfortable, ergonomic working position and a better workplace environment.
The improved working positions caught the attention of many of the dental decision-makers at the event as they were keen to improve the practitioners’ professional health and – not least – reap the financial benefits it entails.
Seamless digital integration of external devices like intraoral scanners
The visitors were also taken by the unit’s digital features and opportunities. For example, the ability to connect external devices like a 3D scanner was one of the main highlights.
Easy, seamless integration of devices means less equipment in the clinic and faster execution of treatments. Digitizing the processes and easy access to all data directly on the Navigator screen makes the dentist’s and assistant’s work procedures simpler, and it enables the team to provide better patient service.
For the visitors, the digital opportunities stood out as a huge opportunity for their business forecast, as there is no doubt that dentistry is moving towards a digitized future and new investments need to anticipate this shift.
The event was concluded as Danes would do it: Enjoying traditional Danish food in the cozy atmosphere of the Van der Ven. All in all, it was a perfect day to relax and enjoy dental technology at its best.
